The Blackberry (Trinity) Stitch

Kiri Cottage Blackberry or Trinity Stitch 1

The Blackberry stitch, also known as the Trinity stitch, derives its name from its resemblance to clusters of blackberries.
Its textured, raised design is formed by knitting three stitches together and then creating three new stitches in the same spot, mimicking the appearance of small berry-like bumps.

More Spinning

Kiri Cottage Spinning Commission 6

I am now spinning some raw fleece for a customer to knit an Aran jumper. She has asked that some lanolin is left in the wool, as that is what her customer for the jumper has asked for.

Kiri Cottage Crafts Club First Meeting

The first get-together of the Kiri Cottage Crafts Club meets on Tuesday 24th October 2023 from 6pm to 9pm at my workshop located between Kircubbin and Portaferry Co Down, Northern Ireland.

Bring what you are working on, or something you are ‘stuck’ with, or just come along to learn something new. If you can’t make the full 3 hours, just drop in when you can.

There is no fee – just a donation to our chosen charity: Equine Halfway House Rescue and Refuge, based in Lisburn.

Drop in for as long as you can for tea, coffee, buns and craic!
