Description
Knit like a Viking – Nalbinding at Turnip House (see below for address).
Nalbinding is a very old method of making wooden fabric, using a needle and yarn. It predates knitting and crochet by about 2000 years, and is mainly seen as a Scandinavian craft, although examples have been found across the world.
This workshop will introduce you to the craft, and give you plenty of time to do learn some basic stitches.
All equipment and materials are provided (we will use my own hand spun wool), and you can take extra supplies home so that you can keep practicing.
Suitable for age 12+ and all under 18’s to be accompanied by an adult.
There will be a maximum of 6 in the class – why not treat yourself and a friend?
Tea or coffee will be offered upon arrival, and later on, lunch will also be included in the cost of this workshop, which is taking place in Turnip House situated in the heart of the Mournes Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Cost – £37 per person
