Sustainable tourism
Kiri Cottage Crafts is part of a wider tourism cluster, ‘Loughs and Legends’, which currently encompasses 18 different tourism providers within the Ards and North Down Council area.
One of our core values is to promote sustainability within the tourism industry, and to that end we have all developed action plans to demonstrate how we will each take that forward within our own tourism experiences and offerings.
Many of us have developed our plans as part of our participation in the Level 4 Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Practice in Destinations, offered by Ards and North Down Borough Council, in partnership with Tourism Northern Ireland.
My action plan is here – part of it contains immediate, practical steps that I can take in the shorter term; it also includes more aspirational, longer term goals. The plan will be updated on a regular basis.
THE GOOD VISITOR PROMISE
The Good Visitor Promise is a simple and positive guide to help visitors enjoy everything our Borough has to offer, while also caring for the places and communities that make it unique.
The Good Visitor Promise is brought to life via an animation and poster highlighting practical, easy actions – from respecting our environment and supporting local businesses, to being kind to our communities and travelling responsibly.
