Winchester Colour Factory Workshop

I’m away for a couple of days in Winchester for a wee holiday, and of course I found a craft workshop to go to!
It was about making a copper bowl, at The Colour Factory in Winchester.
On The Wheel

Today I spun some of my own hand-dyed wool. This was dyed using Kraftcolour Landscape dye in both Teal and Fern.

Nalbinding – Viking Knitting

Here is a brand new Nalbinding workshop at Kiri Cottage Crafts. This is a form of early Scandinavian knitting, often associated with the vikings. This is Oslo stitch, one of many Nalbinding stitches.
Art Batts

I’ve been working on two art batts today, created on my Brother Drum Carder.
I’m looking forward to spinning these later today.
These are a mixture of wool, bamboo, tencel, recycled sari silk and trilobal for a bit of sparkle. Pretty!
Hand Spun Wool – Recent Commissions

I have recently completed a couple of commissions. One for two pet sheep (spun and dyed) and one for alpacas.
Kiri Cottage Crafts Club 30th January 2024

We had patchwork at Kiri Cottage craft club this morning, and a lovely ‘show and tell’ piece of stitching – a row of houses ready to be framed.
Kiri Cottage Crafts Club 16th January 2024

This afternoon we worked with peg looms, to create sample rag rugs. Really quick, easy and effective way to do produce pretty rugs with the added advantage of recycling old clothes, curtains, bed linen and any other scraps of materials in your stash!
Kiri Cottage Crafts Club 10th January 2024

Great fun today with two lovely ladies, who thought they were coming for a therapeutic, social, craft day, and both learned to spin. And we developed knitting skills in the afternoon, mastering plain, purl and rib.
